truc2 – modulated multi-effect – is now free

truc2 is a multi-effect plug-in with 4 different effect modules and two automated XY pads to modulate their levels and parameters. It is designed to add variation and movement, anywhere along the scale of subtle to overkill and is suitable for any material

The 4 effect modules are DIRT, GRAIN, RING and DELAY. The first XY pad modulates the volume/mix level of each module, whilst the second XY pad modulates any 4 of the 15 automatable parameters. Both XY pads can be moved manually and additionally automated with a variety of LFO shapes, speeds and depths

truc2 is a complete rewrite of the original from new. The main improvements over the first version are;

PULS – monophonic pulse wave synth – is now free

PULS is a monophonic pulse wave synthesizer with simple controls but complex sounds. From 2 pulse wave oscillators you can get chunky basses, scorching leads, retro chiptune, dusty lofi and oddball noises. With an unusual isometric pixel-art interface , what it lacks in knobs, it makes up for in sound.

It features custom pulse waveforms, unison, oscillator sync and ring modulation for some big ‘n’ dirty sound potential, with a tempo-sync LFO for pulse width modulation (PWM) as well as detune and volume modulation.

thrummaschine is a 3-band distortion effect with independant, LFO-driven filters. Make your bass, mid and high frequencies oscillate at different speeds, shapes and pan, with whatever flavour and level of distortion you dial in for each band

!!WARNING!! Thrummaschine is capable of nasty loudness if you push the settings hard, keep volumes low while you play with the controls

moot

moot is a flexible audio mute plugin with a number of additional features. The mute switch (Hit Me) can be assigned to a single midi keyboard key and act in 3 ways

• as a latch (one press mute, release stays muted, next press unmute, release stays unmuted)
• in default mode (hold down to mute, release to play audio)
• in invert mode (hold down to play audio, release to mute)

The minimum and maximum volume can be set so that as well as muting, moot can act as a switch between a high and low volume

In addition there is an audio gate to chop the audio and a smooth control to add a small attack/decay between changes

black box

the legend

the black box slight disorder was found by pawn shop owner, Jesus “Buffa” Martinez, in the wreckage of a secret experimental gyrocopter that crashed landed in Times Square, New York on Friday 8th January, 1969. Buffa sold it on to an anonymous collector, thought to be a wealthy rock star in a band-du-jour and it has since been stolen, smuggled in and out of all 17 continents, used as a door stop, an assault weapon, integrated into the Soyuz Space Station, survived 2 assasination attempts and came 3rd in last years Big Brother. Although several theories have been put forward, no-one knows exactly how it works. Teams of scientists, engineers, conspiracy theorists and reiki masters have all failed to gain entry to this enigmatic box of tricks. What is known is that it will take an audio input and spit out a modified signal, seemingly using a system of things and other stuff that make you go mmmmmmm.

The rythmic, choppy, buffered and tempo sync output is especially pleasing on drums, but works for most instruments and vocals too. It has no controls, only a red LED display that runs from 000 to 099, each number would appear to change the algorythymic undertones that affect the things and stuff inside differently. Some of these so-called ‘programs’ appear to loop the effect, others don’t. Sometimes the things are faster and the stuff slower, othertimes it’s the opposite.

The original black box is now retired from public life, but de la Mancha was lucky enough to get access for a few short days and using revolutionary new tele-sampling techniques was able to bring you this perfect software emulation of the legendary black box.

 

sfilter

sfilter creates a stepped filtered sequence, to create gating, sweeps or rhythmic modulation of filter cut-off. It uses a variable state filter, varying between 2 adjustable cut-off values according to a tempo-sync’d step sequencer. An LFO can also modulate the filter for extra movement

jellyfish is a 4 oscillator synth with multiple modulation methods between the oscillators and of their various parameters which guarantees plenty of movement in the sound. This is great for evolving pads, wobbly bass, vibrant leads or just plain strangeness. Using addition, subtraction, phase difference, ring modulation or phase distortion, the oscillators can modulate each other to get a wide variety of sounds. 2 tempo-sync LFOs and an ADSR envelope can all modulate this inter-osc modulation, as well as pitch, filter cut-off and each other. A pair of resonant filters and a tempo-sync delay complete the deal

metamorph is a waveform morphing synth with a bunch of envelopes, LFOs and onboard effects to guarantee movement on even the most vanilla note

Each oscillator can morph through a selection of waveforms in tempo sync or modulated by an envelope. It can also step through the waveforms, make each cycle a new waveform or even just stick with one waveform if you want. Throw in pitch modulation, 5 envelopes, 2 LFO’s, a ring mod / 3rd audio osc, variable state filter, distortion, delay and an arpeggiator and that held note will never sound the same again
